Student of the Week
Krina
Special Thanks to the PTO and the Literacy Committee for providing the assembly, Bucket Fillers. Bucket Filling is kindness in action. It creates a safer, kinder, more respectful school culture where children are ready to learn. The 3 key ideas we learned are filling buckets (treating ourselves and others well), dipping into buckets (disrespect or meanness in action to ourselves and others), and placing a lid on our bucket (helps us cope with bucket dipping remarks or actions).
Reading/Language Arts
We will continue reading Owen and Mzee, The children will begin working on shared research, with a partner. They will learn more about Aldabra giant tortoises and hippopotamuses.
Reading Incentive - Sports Day
Math
We will be extending counting patterns by 1's, 10's and 100's. There will be a review and test on Number Concepts. Our next topic will be Numbers to 1,000. Children will use pictorial models to represent 3-digit numbers.
Science
Prince Waffle will be teaching Little D about foods from the grain group. We will identify the foods you need to eat for energy.
