Our painted lady butterflies have emerged from their chrysalises.  We will release them next week when the weather warms up.


Special Thanks
I would like to thank the PTO, parents and children for a great Teacher Appreciation Week.
The lunches, desserts and special treats were awesome.

Library Books
All school library books are due on Friday, May 19th.  Notices will go out after this date indicating if your child has any overdue books and the replacement value of the book(s).

MAPS Testing
The children will be taking the math and reading tests next week.  They will need their iPads.  Please make sure your child's iPad is charged.

Jr. Achievement
The children had a great time with Mr. Scott and Mr. Al from BP oil.  They worked together learning about different jobs in the community and making doughnuts.  They also learned how some government jobs help the community and the importance of paying taxes.

Reading/Language Arts
Next week we will be reading fables:  The Hare and the Tortoise, The Crow and the Pitcher, The Grasshopper and the Ants, Belling the Cat and The fly on the Wagon.
Focus:  conflict, personification and moral
Vocabulary: fable, central message, lesson, moral, conflict, personification

Math
We will be reviewing time, money, shapes and fractions.

Science
There will be a review and unit test on Our Earth.
