Crazy Hair Day

Congratulations! to the students that completed their Reading Log for the month of March.  They chose Crazy Hair Day to celebrate.
We will also be having Toy Day! on Monday to celebrate their good behavior in the lunchroom.  Everyone is invited to bring in a toy, please no electronics.

Time Robbers
The children have been learning about time robbers from Mrs. Pesavento, our school psychologist.  We have identified different time robbers e.g. socializing, distractions, antsy, hungry, sleepy, etc.  Next we will work on removing them and focusing on our goals.

Reading/Language Arts
The authors have been busy working on their animal reports.  They are including many of the text features they have been learning about during the year.  We will continue to work on them next week.  Hopefully everyone's report will be ready for Open House on April 21st.

We have also been busy learning about literature circles.  The children have learned about the role of the Qualified Questioner and Character Captain.  Next week they will learn about the roles of the Valuable Visualizer, Word Watcher and Passage Picker.  We can't wait to start our own literature circles in the classroom.

Grammar:  adjectives and adverbs

Math
Today we cut out fish. Have your child show you how the fish can show reflection, rotation and transformation.  Next week we will focus on symmetry and there will be a test on Plane Figures and Spatial Sense.  We will begin 3-digit addition with and without regrouping.

Social Studies
There will be a review and test on Unit 4, Our Country.
