Student of the Week
Addison

Congratulations!
Every student completed their Reading Log for November.  The children had a comfy & cozy day in their pajamas.  Everyone also received a coupon for Pizza Hut.
Next month's reading reward will be "stuff animal" day.

Reading/Language Arts
We will be reading Aero and Officer Mike Police Partners, by Joan Plummer Russell.  This nonfiction story is about a partnership between a policeman, Officer Mike, and his partner, a police dog named Aero.  The story includes routines and activities that Aero and Officer Mike may do in a day, including veterinarian checkups, and visiting hospitals and schools.  It also tells how Officer Mike and Aero communicate with each other.
Our focus for the week will be main idea and details, using context clues and pictures to determine the meaning of words and determining author's purpose.
Grammar - dividing words into syllables, irregular verbs and compound words

Math
Children will practice addition and subtraction fluency within 100 using strategies based on place value.  We will solve one-step story problems with sums to 100 involving situations of adding and subtracting.
