Art to Remember
If your child has turned in an Art to Remember picture, please check their Take Home Folder on Monday for the order form. Order forms are due by Monday, October 26th.
Reading/Language Arts
We will be reading books with opinions: Stella Writes an Opinion, Hey Little Ant, A Fine, Fine School, and The Day the Crayons Quit. After reading many books on different kinds of friendships, children will choose a character that they would like as a friend. They will give their opinion on why this character would make a good friend. The opinion piece will include a hook, 3 reasons, examples from the text and a concluding statement.
Math
Children will be adding numbers with and without regrouping. They will use strategies: make a model, draw a picture, and write a number sentence, for solving story problems.
Science
We will begin our unit, Living and Nonliving Things. Children will identify and describe characteristics that distinguish living and nonliving things. They will learn the basic needs of animals and plants.
