Thank You to all the students and parents for making this week so special.  I enjoyed reading all the cute cards and admiring all the art work.  I appreciate the gifts and the all the beautiful flowers. I would also like to thank the PTO for the delicious lunches.  It was a wonderful week.


Reminder
Our field trip to the zoo is Wednesday.  Please remember to send a disposable sack lunch,  we will be eating at the zoo.  Dress for the weather, we will be outside for the majority of the time.
ABC Countdown  
Tuesday - bring a game (not electronic) to play with a friend   
Wednesday - wear a hat
Friday - bring in a favorite joke to share


Reading/Language Arts
We will be reading Carnivores, by Aaron Reynolds.  The three greatest carnivores at the top of their food chains are feeling lonely and excluded.  Not knowing what else to do, they come together to talk about their feelings at (an AA meeting) or a CA meeting.  The timber wolf comes up with an idea that will get those below them on the food chain to include them and maybe even become friends.

Math
Non-Unit Fractions and Regions

  • understand a fraction as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into equal parts
  • learn how to identify and name other fractions

  • color to show fractions that name parts of a set

What is Heat?
  • measure temperature

  • explain the transfer of heat and how heat is measured
