Student of the Week
Jasper
Mitten Tree - from December 1st - 17th, our school will be collecting mittens, gloves, hats, and scarfs to decorate our holiday day tree. These items will be donated to families in need.
Reading/Language Arts
We will be working on sequencing and using connecting words in our writing. After Thanksgiving we will be reading How to be a Friend, by Laurie Krasny Brown and Marc Brown. It is a guide to making friends and keeping them.
We will continue to work on proper nouns, pronouns and begin to work on verbs.
Math
Students will be adding two-digit numbers with and without regrouping. The following week they will use number lines to model 2-digit addition and use different methods to solve addition problems.
Science
We will be comparing the body coverings of mammals and birds. Students will learn some of the characteristics of some vertebrate groups: reptiles, amphibians, and fish.
We will have a special visitor on December 5th. Mrs. Conyer, Juliana's mother will be presenting a lesson on plants.
