Connecting and Comparing Literature
The stories for this week are Little Grunt and the Big Egg and Mighty Dinosaurs.
Little Grunt and the Big Egg is a fantasy story.  Little Grunt and his family adopt George, a baby dinosaur who grows so big that he no longer fits in the family cave.  The Grunts send George away, but he returns in time to rescue them from an erupting volcano.
Mighty Dinosaurs is a nonfiction story.  Dinosaurs were giant lizards that lived millions of years ago.  They came in many different shapes and sizes, and scientists study their fossils to learn more about them.
