Special Thanks - We would like to thank everyone that came to our Open House.
The children enjoyed sharing their projects with family and friends.
We would also like to thank the PTO for providing new books for our classroom.

Reading
We will be reading poetry.  Words in a poem are superwords.  Just a few of them can be more powerful than you can imagine.  We will learn how a poem can describe things, tells a story, or makes you feel a certain way.  A poem can have words that rhyme or make a rhythm, like beats in music.  It can have parts called stanzas or it may form a special shape.

Math
We will begin Chapter 19, Fractions.  Fractions identify 1 equal part of a whole.  Students will identify fractions that describe a whole and are equal to one.

Science
Students will draw conclusions how energy and matter interact by reflecting light off a mirror.
Our painted lady butterflies have been emerging from their chrysalides.

Social Studies
We will learn how Paul Revere exemplified good citizenship.  Students will use different sources of information to learn about the travels of Louis and Clark.

Homework
Reading - read for 20 minutes and complete Reading Log
Math - practice math facts and complete one side of worksheet
