Student of the Week
Martin

Thank You
We would like to thank the parents that provided food, goodies and crafts for our Halloween party.  A  special thanks to Mrs. Conley, Mrs. Homberg, Mrs. Pagorelec, and Mrs. Rerucha for the games and working with the children during the party.  Everyone had a great time.

Reading
We will be reading Erandi's Braids by Antonio Henandez Madrigal. Erandi hopes for a new dress for her birthday.  But when her mother finds holes in the fishing net, Erandi wonders how they will get the money for the things they need.  Students will make inferences to understand characters.  They will informally explore text structure in narrative texts, including character and plot.

Students will hear and discuss My Little Sister Ate One Hare, by Bill Grossman.  We will generate silly ideas about brothers and sisters for our writing this week.  Students should be using capital letters for the first word of sentences and proper nouns and correct ending punctuation.

We will begin Chapter 6, 2-Digit Addition.  Students will practice adding with and without regrouping.  They will write addition exercises from horizontal to vertical.
