Book Orders
Book orders were sent home last week. If you wish to order books, please turn in orders or place orders online by October 15th.

Reading
This week we will be reading Dry Skin, in Poppleton and Friends by Cynthia Rylant and illustrated by Mark Teague. Poppleton has dry skin and his friend Cherry Sue tries to help him get rid of it.
Comprehension Focus: Students will visualize to make sense of text and informally use schema and inference as they visualize.
Social Development Focus: Students analyze the effect of their behavior on others and on the group work.
Vocabulary Words: numerous, recreation, shelter, and necessary
Math
Students will identify patterns on a hundreds chart and solve problems by using the strategy find a pattern.
Science
Students learn how to identify a "Smart Snack". They will have the opportunity to practice meal planning using foods from the 5 food groups.
Social Studies
We have been learning about our country's symbols. Students will be completing a booklet about our state's symbols.
Homework
Reading - Read for 20 minutes and write the title of the book using capital letters
Math - Practice Facts and 1-side of a worksheet
