Sofia
Reminder: The children will need to bring a bag lunch on Thursday, December 20th. We will be eating in the classroom when we return from singing Christmas Carols at Fairview Village.
Holidays Around the
World
This week the
children will experience how holidays are celebrated in five different
countries. In our classroom the children
will learn about the Legend of the Poinsettia from Mexico.
They will then
travel to Mrs Onorato's room to learn about Israel, Mrs.Walega's room to learn about Poland, Mrs. Oliver’s room to
learn about Sweden, and Mrs. Zurales's room to learn about China.
Math
Students will learn to follow directions to locate points on a grid. There will be a review and test on Chapter 9, Data and Graph. We will begin Chapter 10, Probability.
Science
We will review for a chapter test on plants.
Social Studies
We will begin Unit 3, Working Together. The vocabulary words for this unit are: income, goods, services, tax, factory, trade, transportation and barter.
Class Party - The holiday party will begin at 2:00 on Friday.
Homework
Reading - read for 20 minutes and complete Reading Log
Math - practice facts and worksheet (1-side)
