Theme : Nature Walk
Genre :  Fables
The fables for this week will be The Hare and the Tortoise, The Crow and the Pitcher, The Grasshopper and the Ants, Belling the Cat, and The Fly on the Wagon.
Phonics:  words with final k and ck, vcv pattern
Comprehension: understanding fables
High Frequency Words:  enough, hear, hungry, idea, laugh, learn, little, more, people, water                                                         Vocabulary Words: fable, lesson, moral

Math
Students will be subtracting 1-digit and 2-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping.

Science
We will learn about the characteristics of some vertebrate groups (birds & animals).  Students will compare hair and feathers using a hand lens.

Social Studies
The children enjoyed having Mr. Healy in the classroom.  This week he will be teaching the students about unit and assembly-line production methods as they make donuts.


Homework
 Reading - read 20 minutes and complete Reading Log 
 Math - worksheet and practice math facts 
 * Please check your child's Take Home Folder. 
 The highlighted math facts and spelling words should be       practiced.
