Reading
Theme:  Nature Walk
Genre:  Realistic Fiction
The story for this week is Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night.  Henry, his dog Mudge, and Henry's parents take their annual camping trip to Big Bear Lake.

Math
There  will be a review of Chapter 4, Number Concepts and Patterns for the test.  We will begin Chapter 5, Explore 2-digit Addition, with and without regrouping.

Science
We will begin our unit on Living Things.  Students will learn to identify and describe characteristics that distinguish living and nonliving things.

Social Studies
We will examine the globe and a map of the world.  Students will locate continents and oceans.  


Homework
Reading - read 20 minutes and complete Reading Log
Math - worksheet and practice math facts 
Please check your child's Take Home Folder. They need to practice the highlighted facts and spelling words.
