Thank You! - We would like to thank the PTO and the families of Ava and Mason for their donations, so that we may add books to our classroom's collection.  The children are very excited about getting the new books. 


Reading
Theme: Silly Stories
Genre: Fantasy
The story for this week is Julius.  Julius, a pig from Alaska, teaches Maya and her family important lessons about fun and sharing.

Math
Students will use addition and subtraction to identify missing addends.  There will be a review for a test on Chapter 2, Subtraction Facts and Strategies.  We will begin Chapter 3, Place Value to 100.

Science
Students will identify foods from the milk group and how they are important to keep their bones and teeth healthy and strong.

Social Studies
Students will recognize diversity in communities.  We will read about Chinatown, Little Italy, and Central Park communities in New York City.

Homework
Reading - read 20 minutes and complete Reading Log
Math - worksheet and practice math facts

Please check your child's Take Home Folder.  They need to practice the highlighted facts.
