Theme: Family Time
Genre: realistic fiction
The story for this week is Carousel. Alex's father misses her birthday party, and everything is spoiled until the animals on his gift of a tiny carousel come to life in a dream.

Math
We will begin Chapter 19, Fractions. Students will identify fractions that represent more than one equal part of a whole and fractions that describe a whole and are equal to one.
Science
We will complete our observations of objects and draw conclusions about the effects of decomposition. There will be a chapter test on natural resources.
Social Studies
We will learn how Ella Cara Deloria, a native American, helped people understand the culture of the Sioux people by writing books.
Homework
Reading-read for 20 minutes and complete the reading log
Math - one side of a worksheet or both sides of the workbook page
