Reading logs need to be completed during spring break.



Students should keep their rain forest animal information papers in their Take Home Folder. Students that wish to begin collecting information and pictures can bring them to school to keep in their science folder.

Theme: Family Time
Genre: realistic fiction
The story for this week is Jalapeño Bagels. For International Day at school, Pablo wants to bring something that reflects the cultures of both his parents.
Target Skills:
Phonics: contractions; -le ending in two-syllable words
Comprehension: following directions; questions
High Frequency Words: early, hair, instead
Vocabulary Words: bakery, dough, customer, ingredients, culture, recipe

Math
Students will learn to estimate and measure capacity in liters and measure temperature in degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius.

Science
We will continue to observe how objects decompose. Students will learn some of the causes and effects of pollution and how people can cause positive and negative changes to our environment.

Social Studies
Students will compare the lives and contributions of various Native American Groups and locate regions of the Powhatan, the Sioux, and the Pueblo Indians on a United States map.

Homework
Reading-read for 20 minutes and complete the reading log
Math - one side of a worksheet or both sides of the workbook page
