Theme: Family Time
Genre: nonfiction
The story for this week is Brothers and Sisters. This photo-essay takes an honest look at the many variations of sibling relationships.
Target Skills:
Phonics: the –er ending in two-syllable words
Comprehension: making generalizations, evaluating
High Frequency Words: middle, trouble, uncle
Vocabulary: newborn, twins, pest, teenage, distract

Math
Students will measure lengths of objects in inches, feet, yards and centimeters. We will also measure the perimeter of plane figures and areas in square units.

Science
We will begin Chapter 6, Natural Resources. Students will identify air, water, rocks, soil, plants and animals as natural resources.

Social Studies
Students will find locations on maps and identify flags as national symbols throughout the world.

Homework
Reading-read for 20 minutes and complete the reading log
Math - one side of a worksheet or both sides of the workbook
