Genre: Realistic Fiction
The story for this week is Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night. Henry, his dog Mudge, and Henry's parents take their annual camping trip to Big Bear Lake.
Target Skills

Comprehension: compare and contrast
High Frequency Words: beautiful, even, quiet, straight, year, campfire

Math
We will be adding two-digit numbers with and without regrouping. Students will use base ten blocks to make a model.

Science
We will begin a new unit World of Living Things. Our first chapter will be Living and Nonliving Things. Students will identify and describe characteristics that distinguish living and non living things.

Social Studies
We will begin Unit 2, Our Earth. The vocabulary words include: geography, landform, ancestor, producer, consumer, natural resource, crop, and conservation.

Homework
Reading - read 20 minutes and complete reading log
Math - practice facts & one side of a worksheet, 2 sides of a workbook page
