Welcome Back to School!
It was wonderful meeting everyone at the Open House and I'm looking forward to a great year.
Reading - We will be reading Dragon Gets By this week. Dragon who has no food in his cupboard goes shopping and buy more food than he can fit in his car! We will talk about the food groups and what makes a balanced diet.
Math - We will use doubles, near doubles and making ten to find the sum. Students will use addition strategies to find the sum of 3 addends.
Science - Little Dragon help the students learn that, in order to grow up healthy, they need foods from the five food groups: milk, meat, vegetable, fruit, and grain, and physical activity.
Social Studies - We will begin Unit 1, Where We Live. The vocabulary words are: law, vote, community, history, urban, suburb, rural, and capital.
