Reading / Writing Workshop: Focus on Writing Traits: Personal Narrative
The workshop for this theme focuses on the traits of voice, conventions, and presentation. Students will write about an experience that matters to them. They will focus on details that will interest their audience and choose words and phrases that show clearly how they feel. Their narratives will include a beginning, middle, and end with details to help the reader picture what has happened.

Math
There will be a review and chapter test on Chapter 15, Plane Figures and Spatial Sense. We will begin Chapter 17, Length, Perimeter, and Area. Students will measure length using nonstandard units, inches, feet, and yards.

Science
Students will be making a circuit using batteries, wires, and a light bulb. We will learn how energy and matter interact.
