Special Visitor
There will be an assembly with Lt. Tabisz, from the fire department. He will talk to the children about fire safety for Fire Prevention Week.

Reading/Writing Workshop
The students will be writing a descriptive paragraph about a Halloween costume. We will focus on word choice, using sensory words and adjectives and conventions, using capital letters and punctuation.

Math
We will be solving problems by looking for a pattern and skip counting by twos, fives, and tens starting with different numbers. There will be a test on Friday.

Science
We will begin our unit on Living and Nonliving Things. Students will identify and describe characteristics that distinguish living and nonliving things.

Social Studies
Students will identify major landforms and bodies of water on a map. We will compare similarities and differences among families in different communities.

Homework
Reading - read 20 minutes and complete reading log
Math- practice facts and one side of the math worksheet
