Welcome Back to School!

I am looking forward to working with everyone to make this a successful year.

The first week of school will be busy. We will be going over the Parent and Student Handbook to review the school policies and rules. The children will become familiar with class routines and expectations.

Reading

The students will be introduced to the Scholastic Reading Counts program. They will be able to select classroom books at their reading level and take quizzes to earn points toward prizes.

Math

We will use joining and part-part-whole to solve addition facts and count to recall sums.

Science

We will begin our unit on nutrition as we learn about the five food groups: milk, meat, vegetable, fruit, and grain.

Social Studies

Our first unit will be Where We Live. Students will use pictures to obtain information and meaning of words.
