November Reading Rewards: Thanks and Giving

We would like our Ide students to take a moment to give thanks and to have the opportunity to give back.  We will be collecting new or gently used children's books to donate to a school in need.  We will be collecting books until November 30th.

Reading and Language Arts

Children will be taking a common assessment next week.  We will be finishing up our friendship unit with the "I Message" Process.  The message starts with the word "I" and then is followed by how you feel, next is what the other person did or is doing that makes you feel that way, why you feel this way, and what you want or need the other person to do.  The children will work in groups to role play scenarios using the "I Message."

Math

We will continue with 2-digit addition.  Children will use the strategy draw a diagram and represent addition situations with number sentences using a symbol for the unknown.  We will be finding sums of four 2-digit numbers.
