Reading/Language Arts
The children have been hard at work completing their animal reports and doing a wonderful job. We are looking forward to sharing our reports with family and friends at Open House.
Next week we will be reading two stories about ants, Ant, a non fiction story by Rebecca Stefoff and Two Bad Ants, a fiction story by Chris Van Allsburg.
Focus: recount/retell, and compare/contrast
Vocabulary: hovered, violently, deemed, chamber, plunged
Imagine That !- Assembly
The children had a wonderful time using their imaginations. Each child received a purple feather to take home. Together with your child think of all the things that purple feather could turn into, if you used your imagination.
Math
We will be building 3-dimensional shapes using cubes and other objects and naming 3,4,5, and 6 sided shapes. Children will identify angles in 2-dimensional shapes.
Science
There will be a review and test on Chapter 5, Exploring Earth's Surface.
