Special Thanks to all the grandparents and grandfriends that were able to join us for Grandparents' Day.  

Reading/Language Arts
Next week we will be reading Aero and Officer Mike, Police Partners, by Joan Plummer Russell.  This nonfiction story is about a true partnership.  We will learn about K-9 training and how a police officer and his dog work and play together.
Focus:  determine meaning of words using context clues and pictures, recall/gather information to answer questions
Vocabulary Words:  patrol, grating, quiver, unique, cruiser, canine

Math 
We will begin subtracting with and without regrouping.  Strategies we will be learning are breaking apart a 1-digit subtrahend to subtract from a 2-digit number and breaking apart a 2-digit subtrahend from a 2-digit number to subtract.

Science
We will be identifying and describing basic needs of animals and learning about the factors that influence plant growth.
