The students earned Wacky Friday, a movie and an extra recess for their behavior in the lunchroom.
Many students also earned Stuff Animal Day for turning in their completed Reading Log.

Author's Visit
Paul Orshaski will be visiting Elizabeth Ide on Friday, January 29th. The children have heard some of Mr. Orshaski stories in class and will have an opportunity to meet him, in person.
An order form has been sent home, if you would like to order any of his books.
Reading/Language Arts
Our focus will be on fact/opinion. We will be identifying the differences between a fact and an opinion. Children will write their opinion and supply reasons an details to support their opinion.
Grammar: use apostrophes in contractions and possessives
Math
We will begin place value with money. Children will count money, and develop an understanding of twenty-five cents as a unit that is composed of groups of five and ten. They will use combinations of coins with a total value of several dollars.
Social Studies
We will be distinguishing between producing and consuming. Children will learn how people depend on physical environment and its resources to meet their needs.
