Last Day for the Ide's Book Drive - The book collection is for Whitehead Elementary School in Rockford, IL. We are collecting gently used books for grades K-5.
Reading Incentive, Dr. Seuss Day - Children should wear clothes backwards or wear a mis-matched outfit and bring their favorite Dr. Seuss book to share.
Field Trip- March 12th
Reading
Children will begin working on a research project with the book My Librarian is a Camel. We will be examining the text features and locating important information about libraries around the world.
Language Arts
- simple & compound sentences
- synonyms & antonyms
- identify plane shapes by their attributes
- identify & draw polygons
- determine whether a shape has been divided into equal or unequal parts
Social Studies
- vocabulary: Congress, President, Supreme Court
- identify the function of government
- identify ways public officials are selected including election and appointment to office
