Jokubas
Pajama Day - Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring a favorite bedtime book, on Friday January 30th, as part of our reading incentive program.
Shoe boxes - Please have your child bring in a shoebox for a Valentine mailbox. Parents volunteers will be coming in to wrap the boxes on January 29th.
Thank you to the parents that have already sent them in.
Book Drive - We will continue to collect books for Whitehead Elementary School through February 27th.
*Reminder - The Six Fags Read to Succeed reading logs are due Monday, February 23rd. Children will receive a free ticket at the end of the year for turning in their logs.
Reading/Language Arts
- identify- facts and opinions
- state an opinion and supply reasons and details to support their opinion
Math
- add three-digit numbers with regrouping
- learn different strategies to subtract three-digit numbers
- use estimation to select 2 numbers that have a given difference
We are about halfway through the school year. Second grade students are expected to master their addition and subtraction facts by the end of second grade. Congratulations to the students that have mastered both and have moved to multiplication and division.
We will begin Unit 2, Our Earth.
