This week we had a guest, Mrs. Sulima, our curriculum coach.  The students enjoyed a lesson on comparing and contrasting.  They examined an apple and orange and listed the many characteristics of each.
Next week we will begin our unit on friendship.  We will be making friendship soup.  Ask your child what ingredients they think are necessary to put into the soup.

Math
We have taken our first math time test and everyone did a great job.  We will be taking time- test daily, please encourage your child to practice.  We are finishing Topic 1, Understanding Addition and Subtraction.  There will be a test next week.  We will begin Topic 2, Addition Strategies.  We will start with adding 0, 1, and 2 and adding doubles.
Ask your child to double a number and find its sum.
