Reminder - Please have your child dress warm. If temperatures are 20 degrees or above with the wind chill factor, they will go outside for recess.
Reading
We will be reading Galimoto by Karen Williams. Galimoto is a story about a boy named Kondi who walks around his town collecting things. He meets and talks to several people -Ufulu, Kondi's brother; Gift, Kondi's friend; and Munde, Gift's sister.
Vocabulary - stunned, genius, chaos and notorious
Math
Students will model and record subtraction of 2-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping. There will be a test on Chapter 7, Explore 2-Digit Subtraction. We will begin Chapter 8, 2-Digit Subtraction.
Science
Students will analyze and describe the sequence of events of animal life cycles and recognize that animals reproduce and that their young grow to resemble their parents.
Social Studies
We will compare similarities among families in different communities. Students will distinguish between producing and consuming and trace the development of a product from a natural resource to a finished product.
