Reading/Language Arts
Reading Writing Workshop:  Focus on Writing Traits:  Personal Narrative
The workshop for this theme focuses on the traits of voice, conventions, and presentation.  Students will write about an experience that matters to them.  They will focus on details that will interest their audience and choose words and phrases that show clearly how they feel.  Their narratives will include a beginning, middle, and end with details to help the reader picture what has happened.

Math
Students will be measuring lengths of objects in centimeters and meters.  They will also measure the perimeter and area of objects by using rulers and square units.  There will be a test on Chapter 17, Length, Perimeter, and Area.

Science
We will learn how light moves and how it can pass through some objects but not others.
