Great America Tickets -
What a GREAT class! Everyone turned in their reading logs. We are looking forward to receiving our tickets to Great America.

Connecting and Comparing Literature
The stories for this week are Little Grunt and the Big Egg and Mighty Dinosaurs.
Little Grunt and the Big Egg is a
fantasy story. Little Grunt and his
family adopt George, a baby dinosaur who grows so big that he no longer fits
in the family cave. The Grunts send
George away, but he returns in time to rescue them from an erupting volcano.
Mighty Dinosaurs is a nonfiction
story. Dinosaurs were giant lizards
that lived millions of years ago. They
came in many different shapes and sizes, and scientists study their fossils
to learn more about them.

Math
Students will solve problems by using logical reasoning. We will be transforming figures by translation, reflection and rotation and dividing plane figures into congruent figures by using a line of symmetry.
Science
There will be a unit test on Our Earth. We will begin Unit F, Energy in Motion. Our first chapter will be Light and Heat. Vocabulary words are: energy, heat, light, sound, solar energy, and electricity.
Social Studies
Students will obtain information from visual sources such as photographs of artifacts. There will be a unit test on Our Country Today.
