OLSAT Scores- have arrived. If you would like a copy of your child's OLSAT scores you can send a self-addressed envelope with your child and they will be mailed to you.  Or, you can call the office in advance if you would like to pick up a copy.

Library Books -Please return all library books by Monday, May 21st.

Parents- on Tuesday, May 15th there will be a parents' meeting at
Pairieview School (699 Plainfield Rd., Darien, IL).  You will have an opportunity to meet members of the staff and learn about the school your child will be attending for 3rd - 5th grade.

Reading
Theme: Family Time
Genre: Realistic Fiction
The story for this week is Moses Goes to a Concert. It is a story about a deaf boy named Moses, who goes to a concert with his classmates. The deaf percussionist helps Moses and his classmates realize they can be anything they want.
Target Skills:
Phonics: long I (igh and ie)
Comprehension: summarize, noting details
High Frequency Words: air, important, soldier, hour
Vocabulary: deaf, hearing, sign, vibrations

Math
We will be adding and subtracting money amounts in decimal notations, and estimating differences for 3-digit subtraction.  There will be a test on Chapter 23, 3-Digit Subtraction.

Science
We will review Chapter 6, Natural Resources for a test this week. 

Junior Achievement
Miss Suzanne, a Senior Program Manager from Deltak will be teaching the children about their community.  This week they will learn about production and compare unit and assembly-line production methods.
