Congratulations!
Everyone will be receiving their certificate for a pizza from Pizza Hut. The students did a great job turning in their Reading Logs for the month of February.

Reading
Theme: Wrap-Up Overview
Connecting and Comparing Literature
The stories for this week are Little Grunt and the Big Egg and Mighty Dinosaurs. Little Grunt and the Big Egg is a fantasy story. Little Grunt and his family adopt George, a baby dinosaur who grows so big that he no longer fits in the family cave. The Grunts send George away, but he returns in time to rescue them from an erupting volcano.
Mighty Dinosaurs is a nonfiction story. Dinosaurs were giant lizards that lived millions of years ago. They came in many different shapes and sizes, and scientists study their fossils to learn more about them.

packs, pitch, lava, remains

Math
There will be a test on Chapter 15, Plane Figures and Spatial Sense. We will begin Chapter 17, Length, Perimeter, and Area. Students will measure lengths using nonstandard units and to the nearest inch.

Science
We will review for test on Chapter 5, Our Earth.


Social Studies
We will begin the lesson, The Land of Freedom. Students will identify patriotic songs, symbols and mottoes.


Homework

Reading - read 20 minutes and complete reading log
Math - practice facts & one side of a worksheet, 2 sides of a workbook page
