Theme: Wrap-Up Overview
Connecting and Comparing Literature
The stories for this week are Little Grunt and the Big Egg and Mighty Dinosaurs.
Little Grunt and the Big Egg is a fantasy story. Little Grunt and his family adopt George, a baby dinosaur who grows so big that he no longer fits in the family cave. The Grunts send George away, but he returns in time to rescue them from an erupting volcano.
Mighty Dinosaurs is a nonfiction story. Dinosaurs were giant lizards that lived millions of years ago. They came in many different shapes and sizes, and scientists study their fossils to learn more about them.

Math
There will be test on Chapter 14, Solid Figures. We will begin Chapter 15, Plane Figures and Spatial Sense. Students will describe and classify plane figures and combine plane figures to make new figures.

Science
We will begin a new unit on Energy and Motion. We will identify forms and sources of energy and describe ways energy and matter interact.

Social Studies
Students will learn about the significance of national celebrations such as Independence Day and how selected customs and celebrations reflect an American love of individualism and freedom.

Reading - read 20 minutes and complete reading log
Math - practice facts/one side of a worksheet
