PBIS this Week

Next week, January 24-28, Elizabeth Ide will be implementing an approach to discipline called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. We will begin by establishing clear expectations for behavior that will be taught, modeled, and reinforced across all settings and by all staff. Our week will culminate with a juggling celebration assembly.

Pajama Day
Students should wear their pajamas on Thursday and bring a favorite book to read. We will be celebrating with our Reading Incentive Program.

Math
We will be adding and subtracting money amounts less than one dollar. Students will learn to use counting on from an amount tendered to determine change.

Science
We will be burying objects in dirt to observe how they decompose.

Social Studies
There will be a review on Unit 4, Our Country Today for a unit test.
