Student of the Week
Ryan
Reading/Language Arts
This week the students will be working on persuasive writing. They will be using logic, language, and evidence to influence the reader. We will be using the 5 steps in the writing process: pre-writing, drafting, revising, proofreading, and publishing. We will be looking for spelling errors, complete sentences, capitalization, punctuation, and a topic sentence with related ideas.
Math
Students will use mental math to find differences. We will review 2-digit subtraction with and without regrouping for a test on Chapter 8. We will begin Chapter 9, Data and Graphs.
Science
We will review for a chapter test on plants. There will also be a unit test on Living Things, Plants and Animals.
Social Studies
We will discuss the choices people can make about earning, spending and saving money.
Homework
Reading - read 20 minutes and complete reading log
Math - practice facts and one side of the math worksheet
