Special Thanks
A thank you to our PTO for the awesome Unique Assembly. It was an exciting competition between the classrooms.

A thank you to our Superintendent, Dr. Tiede for coming into our classroom to read My Amazon River Day, by Kris Nesbitt. The children were able to learn about family life in the rainforest.

I would like to thank everyone for coming to our Open House. The children enjoyed showing their projects to family and friends.

I would also like to thank everyone for their donations to the Adopt-A-Rainforest. The school raised $293.58.

Congratulations
Everyone has completed their reading logs. Please check your child's folder for a ticket to Great America.

Reading/Writing
We will be receiving our pen pal letters from 3rd grade students at Prairieview this week. The students will be learning the five parts of a letter: date, greeting, body, closing, and signature as we write back to our pen pals. We will visit our pen pals the last week of May.

Math
We will identify fractions that represent more than one equal part of a whole and fractions that describe a whole and are equal to one.

Science
Our butterflies are beginning to emerge into the adult stage of their life cycle. Hopefully the students will have the opportunity to see the butterflies use their proboscis to drink juice from the orange.

Social Studies
We will identify the contributions of Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, and Jackie Robinson to our nation.

Homework
Reading - 20 minutes and Reading Log
Math - worksheet and practice math facts
*Please check you child's homework, correcting mistakes is a way of learning.
