School Picnic
Our school picnic will be on Thursday, June 2nd. A pizza lunch will be provided by the PTO, for having the most Box Tops collected in second grade. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone that turned in Box Tops. If your child chooses not to participate in the pizza lunch, please send a bag lunch.
Reading
We will be reading several fables next week: The Hare and the Tortoise, The Crow and the Pitcher, The Grasshopper and the Ants, Belling the Cat and The Fly on the Wagon. We will be discussing the lesson and moral of each story.
Math
Next week we will be following directions to locate points on a grid. There will be a review on Data and Graphs and a chapter test.
Science
This week the children used their creativity to design a sail for their cars. They competed against each other using wind energy.
Next week we will hypothesize how sounds are different and identify the loudness and pitch of sounds. We will also focus on motion: speed, push, pull, gravity, and friction.
