Reading Writing Workshop:

Focus on Writing Traits: Personal Narrative
The workshop for this theme focuses on the traits of voice, conventions, and presentation. Students will write about an experience that matters to them. They will focus on details that will interest their audience and choose words and phrases that show clearly how they feel. Their narratives will include a beginning, middle, and end with details to help the reader picture what has happened.

Math
We will be transforming figures by transaction, reflection, and rotation. Attributes will be used to describe how two figures are congruent.

Science
We will begin a new unit, A World of Living Things. Students will learn to identify and describe characteristics that distinguish living and non living things and understand that living things reproduce.

Social Studies
The role of the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court will be discussed as we learn about our Federal Government.
